Surreal Killer's Metaversal Venture

Having never played Minecraft before, Surreal Killer, a 34 year old carpenter who specializes in full home remodels in real life couldn’t help but find joy in combining this passion in The Uplift World when he stumbled upon it a mere 5 weeks ago. A project with not only “so much potential, it’s obscene”, this metaversal rendition of constructive design and planning appeals to Surreal Killer’s practical side enticing him to build Minecraft structures that are built with earth physics in mind whether it be in his creative Genesis or survival Londom plot.

Castle Mackinlay (Genesis 1450, 3600)

Aptly named for the ‘MH’ symbolism within the build, this castle was on of the first builds ever done by Surreal Killer in not only The Uplift World, but Minecraft as well. It’s an interesting build worth a wonder even if just to ponder whether this is something that could exist in real life. Complete with mini rail transport and observatory system, a ridiculously long stairway to the top of the tower, and a back door that leads out into a snowy haven filled abyss that no matter how far back you walk you just cannot seem to get the grand scope and scale of this build together in a single image frame, its a fun one to immerse yourself in.

Purple Creeper Ranch (Londom 900, 800)

A fascinating combination of potential real world build, interior design, and electrical engineering techniques, the Purple Creeper Ranch has a charm all its own. Beyond the country escape cozy home appeal, the ranch hosts a scavenger hunt that connects a variety of plots in a systematic yet abstract way that you definitely don’t see everyday over here in the Uplift.

And that brings us to all which cannot readily be seen. In the basement of this Londom build Surreal Killer has set up a scavenger hunt that actually spans several plots in a really clever and unique way, the basis of which is a machine in the basement that is his original design.

“As far as real world experience, I’ve been working with computers since I was 9. That’s when i built my first tower (and manipulated the Windows source without decompiling. I was hooked, lol). In the Uplift, I started playing with Redstone one day and, i mean, the similarities to electricity became pretty obvious. So, I decided to play around with designing a combo lock using the position of an item in a frame (giving the possibility of n^8 combinations where n is the number of frames), but forgot to factor in the fact that others cant move an item in the frame if it isn’t on their plot. This got me to thinking about how a book could open a door down here and a rather interesting thought popped into my head. ‘Does a book on a lectern have a varying output signal?’, of course the answer to this is it does!! Problem solved.

And of course what would a scavenger hunt done with books be without the record winners being recorded in a book for all to see?!?”

And as impressive as all that may be, for a realist carpenter electrical hobbyist such as Surreal Killer, pushing boundaries seems to always be in the cards for this and other future builds. Keep an eye out for the analog design for a clock and send system presently in the works and plenty more interesting ideas turned implementation sure to follow.
