“As always, when get new ideas around something I want to make, they just pop up into my head as I go through the creative process. The hand reaching for the Rubik Cube came after I finished The Rubik Cube Gallery.  Just looking at the big picture, I thought it would be interesting to create a hand, but it the lack of time running all my projects and the difficulty that surrounded the idea I had complicated things.

Having had a great experience with CEa_TIde, a builder I’ve been working with before, it only made sense to take our relationship to the next level and ask him if he would be interested in becoming an official team member and business partner of The Rocket Gallery.

Around about the time that CEa_TIde accepted the offer to become the Chief Builder of all we are doing going forward, Blocky Robots contacted me asking if I could exhibit their project in one of my galleries. Considering all the concepts of their project, I immediately thought how perfectly the arm for the robot would match perfectly with the idea I had for the giant hand rising from beneath the water towards to The Rubik Cube Gallery above, so together alongside some great designs of CEa_TIde, that is just what we did🤘“

The Final Grasp

As simple as the concept may seem at first glance, it really is quite the build to witness first hand.  In truth, capturing images that correctly portray the scope and sense of impact the giant Blocky Robot hand reaching from the sea as the lights rise and fall in the sky and glitter in their shadowy ways from above and beneath the sea is a task almost as futile in its undertaking than any.
